One question that we get quite often is: “Can I connect more than 1 damper to each zone of the SmartZone?” The answer is YES, up to 10 actually.
The next question is usually: “How do I do that since there is only a single terminal and only 1 wire will fit in each position?” The answer to this question is to use a short wire coming out of the terminal then wire-nuts or Wago connectors to attach how many wires needed to accommodate all the dampers you want.
This works fine and will continue to be an acceptable option but we decided that a more elegant solution was in order. SO, we designed the SmartZone Damper Wiring Splitter.
This wiring device allows 4 dampers (or more with daisy-chain) to easily be connected to any model SmartZone or other zone controller. It comes with screwless wiring terminals and LEDs to indicate open and close position of all dampers. It can be mounted using screws or double stick tape. The obsessive wiring nerd will love the clean and easy wiring that this device can accommodate.
